Food Recovery Program Implementation
In 2024, Ottawa Tourism and La Tableé des Chefs launched an innovative new food recovery program in Ottawa, marking Canada’s first DMO-led initiative to reduce food waste and address food insecurity in local communities. My Catering Group, Ottawa’s largest catering company, was eager to sign up as a partner, however, recovering meals from more than 400 events a year is no small undertaking. Rev Hospitality Co. was engaged to provide project management expertise to support the program and establish an operational framework for its implementation. Today, the program is thriving, with My Catering Group leading the charge to create a more sustainable hospitality and tourism industry with community-driven solutions for lasting impact.
